Ed's Chess Book Collection

Below and to the left are two photographs of my collection of chess books. Note:  The photographs need to be updated!  I've added about 25 books to my collection since these photos were taken!

 I first began collecting and reading chess books in 1971. Several of my books are brand new and can be found in bookstores today, but most of them are long out of print and can only be found in used bookstores.

As you can see, my bookcase on the left is no longer large enough to hold them all. The overflow, the books shown below, are on the top shelf of a smaller bookcase adjacent to the large one on the left.

The bottom two shelves contain my Chess Life magazines. I have a complete run from October 1971 to the present.

Keen observers will notice this image on the left is actually a composite image. This was necessary because in order to get all of the books in one frame, I had to stand several feet away... and when I did so I was then too far away for one to be able to read the titles!

I once remember thinking I had a lot of chess books... until I started hanging out with other chess players and hearing of the size of their collections!
